7th Annual Fall Family Festival
Save the date: November 16th 2013 10-4 in Old Town La Quinta
About Families is very proud of this amazing community event! We just completed the 6th Annual and are so happy to have #7 already on the books! This is a day of fun, information and community building. Old Town La Quinta closes down the streets for 50 different family focused vendors and exhibitors. On the event lawn we have play areas and a stage with local performers. Ponies and a petting zoo are nearby with face-painting and ballons. There are also safety demonstrations with child finger-printing and car seat safety by the California Highway Patrol. Plan for 2013 now.

Birthing Bonding and Breastfeeding Conference
The 2nd Annual Birthing Bonding and Breastfeeding Conference in Palm Springs was on May 19th, 2012. This conference highlighted the importance of making informed choices during the childbearing years. Not only was this open to the public but it also offered valuable BRN’s and LCerp’s to professionals in the medical field. Dr. Bob Sears, Jane Honikman and Christy Jo Hendricks, IBCLC presented at the conference. The speakers were well-known and respected for their work in pediatrics, lactation and postpartum support.
Research has shown that with the proper information and support new parents are more likely to have positive birth outcomes and successful breastfeeding relationships. Both of these factors are more likely to facilitate an optimal bonding experience. The health benefits both physically and psychologically for both mother and child are priceless. More information HERE.
